Ever since I met my wife, I've been going to the gym — partly because she likes strong, muscular guys 😆, and partly because I wanted to build the kind of strength that can protect and care for the people I love.
But the real motivation came during my MSF missions.
In Africa, I met men who could lift heavy water buckets and move debris with ease — their bones felt like iron, their resilience born from necessity.
I thought, maybe I should train a little harder too — not just for muscle, but for endurance, for life. 💭
We had originally planned to eat lamb tonight, but it was sold out.
So we wandered into this place instead — a shop where the butcher works right behind glass, slicing fresh cuts from hanging sides of beef.
The smell of warmth and iron fills the air.
The beef soup came first — simple, clear, and honest. No fancy tricks, just the sweetness of fresh meat and the comfort of a hot broth.
Then came the stir-fried beef chest, fragrant with onions, garlic, and just enough wok heat to make it sing.
The barbecue bone marrow is very satisfied with the Taiwan style beef rice.
This stir-fried beef tendon is rare is other restaurant. It came from the tendon of thigh. Soft and intensive.
There’s something deeply grounding about meals like this.
After a day of work and a few sets at the gym, to sit down with someone you love, share a bowl of soup, and taste life’s quiet strength — that, to me, is real nourishment.
